Referendum 2025

Thank you, Oshkosh!

The Oshkosh Area School District’s $197.8 facilities referendum, held on April 1, received voter approval and we are incredibly grateful for your support!

The approved referendum means big things ahead and we’re excited to move forward with:

  • A new consolidated middle school will be built at the Shapiro site (close South Park and Perry Tipler, reducing from three to two westside middle schools)
  • Carl Traeger, Franklin, and Oakwood Elementary schools will be expanded and renovated, including adding air conditioning at Franklin and Oakwood (close Roosevelt and Shapiro, reducing from seven to five westside elementary schools)
  • Perry Tipler Middle School will be converted into a pre-kindergarten center and recreation department
  • A new auditorium will be added to Oshkosh North High School
  • Air conditioning will be added at Emmeline Cook, Lakeside, and Read Elementary schools
  • The district will close and seek to sell South Park Middle School, Roosevelt Elementary School, and the downtown recreation center.
  • 2025 Referendum Results: 13,958 Yes, 13,487 No.

The School District Board of Canvassers are scheduled to canvas the election results on Monday, April 7 at 9:30 AM

Next steps include finalizing project plans and beginning the design and construction phases. The district will provide regular updates on progress and timelines along the way, including a regular update during their first board meeting of every month.
